In Japan, in years of spectacular economic growth in Showa period, an iron sphere, a weight fit on top of the crane vehicle for building destruction, was called "MONKEN".

MONKEN became famous in 1972 when United Red Army while they are routed, held hostage and imprisoned them in ASAMA-Sanso. For hostage release, what police used was MONKEN. They tried to destroy Asama-Sanso using iron sphere MONKEN and discharge water.
